Fall creek place/herron morton
Fall Creek Place is one of many revitalized neighborhoods in inner Indianapolis. The neighborhood is bounded by Meridian Street on the west, Fall Creek Parkway on the north, just east of College Avenue on the east, and 22nd Street on the south. Learn more here. Herron Morton is a historic district in Indianapolis. The boundaries of the neighborhood are East 16th Street on the south, East 22nd Street on the north, the alley west of North Pennsylvania on the west, and the alley east of Central Avenue on the east. Upper canal/ near north
Want to live downtown, but want some water views? This is the area for you. The numerous options for entertainment have many wanting to call the Upper Canal home. With White River State Park in your backyard, residents have access to a variety of attractions including the Eiteljorg Museum, IMAX Theater and Victory Field to name a few. The 1.5-mile historic Canal Walk serves as a beautiful backdrop and convenient fitness trail. The view alone is one of the many perks living in this active Cultural District.
St. Joseph/ Chatham Arch
Chatham Arch is a neighborhood located immediately east of Downtown Indianapolis. This neighborhood is one of the oldest in Indianapolis, dating back to the mid 19th century. Chatham Arch contains many of Indianapolis's historic homes.
Home to famous Hoosier poet James Whitcomb Riley, Lockerbie Square was Downtown's first historic district in the National Register of Historic Places. Walk down these charming streets and enjoy looking at these gorgeous historic homes. Learn more here.
Near East Irvington
Irvington located east of downtown. Irvington is both architecturally and culturally significant to Indianapolis. There are great restaurants and shops in downtown Irvington. Head to Irvington around Halloween town and enjoy their Halloween festival and Haunted tours. This town loves Halloween.
Fletcher Place/ Fountain Square
Many homes are historic in this area downtown as well. You will also see while walking, biking, or driving through that many of the homes have been revitalized or are about to be redone. Enjoy the bright colors and different designs throughout these homes. When you are done exploring the neighborhood enjoy a bite to eat at one of the amazing restaurants in the area or a drink at Hotel Tango (a local distillery), which their drinks change seasonally!
